Digital Publishing and advertising expertise

My first business was contract advertising sales in the publishing industry.Worked with some of the biggest publishers in the United Kingdom. This developed into online media sales and website development in the early 2000s. Web Management Consultants was formed in 2006 and we built it up to over 1500 clients and found a niche in the used trucks, machinery and agri machinery industries. We sold websites and online marketing solutions within these industries. For number of clients we were the biggest website provider within these industries. My wife and i sold the business in January 2019 to Sandhills Global.

My wife exited the business on completion of the deal and i carried on a and transitioned into Sales Director for Sandhills East and Sandhills Italy. For the last two years i have been managing 80 people throughout Europe and Africa working on the following websites and trade publications.
Machinery Trader, Market Book South Africa, Machinery Trader Europe, Truck Buy And Sell International, Camion Supermarket, Machinery Trader Italy, Truck Locator ,Farm Machinery Locator , Farm And Plant Ireland.

I enjoyed the role and it was very challenging to change the model to remote working during Covid. I managed to recruit a number of new sales staff throughout this period as a lot of companies went into defensive mode. As a group we managed to sustain and grow sales 15 to 20% throughout this period. This will go down as one of my best business experiences. One of the biggest lessons learnt for me was that there is no difference being in a business with 3 people or 80. You can run them exactly the same - the principals do not change. I had the opportunity to see if i could run a much a larger company and i embraced it and enjoyed it.
